Valentina Bold is Reader in Scottish Literature and Ethnology at the University of Glasgow’s School of Interdisciplinary Studies, in Dumfries, Scotland. She has published widely on Scottish folklore and literature, particularly on songs and stories. Her books include ‘James Hogg: A Bard of Nature’s Making’, ‘Robert Burns’ Merry Muses of Caledonia’ and ‘Smeddum: A Lewis Grassic Gibbon Anthology’, as well as a CD-rom, co-edited with Thomas A. McKean, ‘Northern Folk: Living Traditions of North East Scotland’. Currently, she is editing James Hogg’s nineteenth century novel, ‘The Brownie of Bodsbeck’, and working on a project exploring pilgrimage traditions and revival in Scotland, and across Europe.<\/p>\n

Selahattin Dilid\u00fczg\u00fcn was born in Bursa in 1960. He completed his primary and secondary education in Bursa and Germany. He graduated from the Faculty of Education of Uluda\u011f University in 1985. He completed his MA at \u0130stanbul University in 1987 and his PhD dissertation entitled\u00a0\u201cChildren\u2019s and Youth Literature in Literature Education<\/em>\u201d in 1994. Professor of German literature with a focus on children’s literature. Director of the Centre for Children’s Literature Research at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University of Frankfurt\/Main. Ewers studied German Literature, Philosophy, Linguistics and Political Sciences at the Universities of Cologne, Bonn and Frankfurt\/Main. In 1976 he made the Ph. D. in German Literature in Frankfurt. Since 1978 he worked as Assistant Professor at the University of Cologne (Department of Education) and since 1984 at the University of Bonn. In 1986 he submitted his inaugural dissertation, entitled “Kindheit als poetische Daseinsform. Studien zur Entstehung der romantischen Kindheitsutopie im 18. Jahrhundert. Herder, Jean Paul, Novalis und Tieck” (Childhood as a poetical form of being. Studies on the emergence of childhood as romantic utopia in the 18th century. Herder, Jean Paul, Novalis und Tieck.).Since 1989 Ewers is Professor of German Literature with a focus on Children’s Literature at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University of Frankfurt\/Main and Director of the “Institut f\u00fcr Jugendbuchforschung” (Institute for Children’s Literature Research). He is the initiator and co-editor of the “Yearbook of Research in Children’s Literature”, published since 1995, and author of numerous studies on the theory and history as well as on contemporary children’s literature. In 2000 he published “Literatur f\u00fcr Kinder- und Jugendliche” (Children’s Literature), an introduction into Children’s literature research.<\/p>\n

\"s5\"<\/a>Prof. Dr. Eunkyung\u00a0OH<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Oh Eun-kyung graduated from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Korea. She earned a Master\u2019s degree and a Ph. D. in Turkish Literature and Comparative Literature from Hacettepe National University in Ankara on a scholarship from the Turkish government. She was a full time professor in the Department of Korean Literature at Ankara University, and worked as a correspondent in Turkey for the Munhwa Broadcasting Station. She followed a position as post-doctorate at the Academy of Korean Studies and lecturer at Korea University and Sungkyunkwan University.
\nShe got a degree of Doctor of Science and professorship in Uzbekistan, Tashkent, the Academy of Science named after Alisher Navoy. She worked as a professor in the Korean Department at the Nizami state pedagogical university in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. She is currently a professor in the College of Humanities of Dongduk Women\u2019s University and consultant of Asia Pacific Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage, UNESCO and Korea Research Foundation.<\/p>\n

Her works include Feminist Critics: Women in Turkish and Korean Novels in the 20th Century (2005, in Turkish), Literature of the Korean War in Turkey (2005, in Turkish), Women and Islam inside the Veil (2006 in Korean), A Comparative Epic Studies between Korea and Uzbekistan (2014 in Uzbek language), Living as a woman in Islamic Countries (2015 in Korean), etc. She is also the translator of Ya\u015far Kemal\u2019s novels The Legend of the Thousand Bulls, The Legend of Ararat Mountain, To Crush the Serpent, Memed-My Hawk as well as Murat Tuncel\u2019s novel \u0130nanna and Hakan Gunday\u2019s novel A Little into Korean. She also translated KO UN\u2019s poetry books, such as Ten Thousand Lives and Anthology of Korean Poet KO UN from Korean into Turkish.<\/p>\n

\"s29\"<\/a>Prof. Dr. Ali Osman \u00d6ZT\u00dcRK<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ali Osman \u00d6zt\u00fcrk, born in 05.01.1960, is from Ordu and graduated from German Philology of Ankara University Language, History and Geography Faculty in 1980. He had a master degree from Selcuk University Social Sciences Institute in 1990. To complete his doctorate studies, he did research in German Folk Song Archive for 2 years. In this context, he studied “Turkish Folk Song Archive”(Selcuk University Research Fund, Project Number: FEF 92\/101, Konya, 1993) project which was also supported by the archive. In 1991, he was inducted to German Philology Department of Selcuk University Science and Literature Faculty\u00a0as an assistant professor. Then he became an associate professor in 1994. He worked as a member of board and vice chairman in Selcuk University Center of Application and Research of Folk Culture between 1992 and 1998. He took on Turkish representation of DEMOS, which was a international ethnology journal, and did about 40 demonstrations of Turkish Folkloric works in this journal. In 2002, he became a professor in Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University German Philology. In this department, he worked as Department Head, Asistant to Rector, Vice Rector, Director of the Graduate School and Director of the Research Center. He came back to Selcuk University in August 2011 and he has currently been working as a professor in Necmettin Erbakan University German Philology at Ahmet Kelesoglu Educational Faculty. He is also the president of GERDER (Society\u00a0of [Turkish] Germanists). 2002 Folkloric Research Institution “Service to Turkish Folk Culture Award” was given to him. He published articles about Konya Folk Songs Culture and kept archive of existing folk songs.<\/p>\n

\"s6\"<\/a>Prof. Dr. Sedat SEVER<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Prof. Dr. Sedat Sever completed his masters in 1985 at the Ankara University Graduate School of Social Sciences, Department of Education Programs and Instructions, Branch of Fine Arts Education. He completed his PH.D. in 1993 in the same branch as above. His Ph.D. Thesis titled \u201cThe Impact of Full Education Principles which are Used in Teaching Turkish \u00a0on Students\u2019 Comprehension and Writing Skills\u201d is one of the first experimental studies. \u00a0Sever is known for his theoretical work on conceiving child and youth literature as a scientific field of study. He has pioneered in organizing the first (2000), the second (2006) and the third (2011) National Symposium on Child and Youth Literature \u00a0as well as founding (2000) of the \u201cAnkara University, Faculty of Education Children\u2019s Library\u201d which is the first of its kind among the universities in our country. He was the associate dean of the Ankara University Faculty of Education (1997), chairman of the Department of Social Sciences in Secondary Schools (2003) and president of the Educational Programs and Instructions Branch (2005). He is the founding president and current president of the Faculty of Education, Department of Cultural Foundations of Education (2007). He is also the founding director of the Ankara University, Center of Applied Research on Child and Youth Literature (2009). He has individual and joint fourteen books and over fifty articles. He was advisor to many radio and television programs. He held responsibilities in various projects on the quality of teaching Turkish and the institutionalization of the child and youth literature.<\/p>\n

\"s6\"<\/a>Prof. Dr. Bahaban MUHAMMED \u015eER\u0130F<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Prof. Dr. Babahan Muhammed \u015eerif was born in 1949 in the Harezm city of \u00dczbekistan. He completed Ta\u015fkent University in 1971 and Ta\u015fkent Administration and Politechnic Institute in 1989. He is a member of \u00dczbekistan and Eurosia Writers Association. He was a newsman, journalist and general publication director of several news papers and journals. He has prepared the Turkish-Uzbek dictionary. He has about ten poetry and essay boks. He has translated over 20 books from Turkish including \u00d6mer Seyfettin, Re\u015fat Nuri G\u00fcntekin Yunus Emre, Karacao\u011flan, N.F.K\u0131sak\u00fcrek, Yavuz Bahad\u0131ro\u011flu, \u0130smail Bozkurt, Yahya Akengin. He has translated six books from Azeri language and four books from Russian into Uzbek language. He has also tarnslated poetrty of such poems \u00c7olpan, Aybek, Aman Metcan, Hasiyet Rustamova, Ali\u015fir Dervi\u015f from Uzbek language to Turkish. He is the recepient of several international awards such as International Ka\u015fgarl\u0131 Mahmud, Karaco\u011flan and Distinguished Service to the Turkish World.<\/p>\n

She was born in Odesa, Ukraine in 1970. She received her diplom from Kirov- Azerbaijan State University in Baku, her masters from Gazi University in Ankara and her Ph. D. from Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences,Nizami Institute of Literature in 2000. She also studied Law in addition to literat\u00fcre. She tought at Comrat State University in Moldavia (1996-2000), at Esatern Mediterranean University in Republic of Northern Cyprus (2003-2004) and Tara\u015f \u015eev\u00e7enko National University of Kiev in Ukraine. Her topics included Turkish Literature, Turkisk Folk Literature, Gagauz Folk Literature and Literature of Turkic Republics. She authored many articles and books. She is founding member of Gagauz Writers Association and Ukraine Gagauzian Association. She know Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Azerbaijani and Gagauzian. She is working as a translator in private sector. <\/p>\n

Born July, 1975, in Lugansk, Ukraine, she completed her bachelor and master\u2019s degrees both in Balkan languages and literatures and Turkic languages and literatures at Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University (1997). She studied Rumelian dialects of Modern Turkish with a grant from the Academic Foundation of Y.Stetkevych and completed her doctorate degree in the languages of Asia, Africa, aborigines of America and Australia at A. Krymsky Institute of Oriental Studies, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (2001). I.Dryga spent 12 years teaching and taking the Chair of Turkology, then Oriental languages Dept. in 3 private and state universities, continuing her research projects at A.Krymsky Research Institute, NAS Ukraine. This was followed by a two-year postdoctoral grant at the same Research Institute in Kyiv. I.Dryga\u00a0took up a position as a scientific staff member and later became Leader of Turkology Sector at the IOS NASU (2014). In addition, she is currently the Chair of the State Board of examiners at Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University. She is the author of several books on Turkology: \u2018Pontika: T\u00fcrkoloji makaleleri\u2019 (Kyiv, 2009. 480 p.), \u2018T\u00fcrk\u00e7enin Rumeli a\u011f\u0131zlar\u0131\u2019 (Kyiv\u2013Beograd, 2008, 275 p., about 100 scholarly publications. Based on her own field research (2008-2014), she attended two projects for the documentation and revitalization of the Endangered Turkic languages in Ukraine and with a grant of International Vidrodzhennia Foundation organized the 1st International ‘Endangered Languages in Ukraine in Turkey’ Conference, launched 3 scientific projects to support the Crimean Tatar culture after Russian occupation of Crimea. I also worked as a lecturer in the Department of Preparation for Foreign Students at the Azerbaijan University of Foreign Languages in 2008-2009 academic years. In 2011-2013 I worked at Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University. Since 2013 I have been working at the Khazar University as a lecturer. Dr. Meral Ozan is Associated Professor of Folk Literature at Abant \u0130zzet Baysal University in Bolu, Turkey. She acquired her MA in German Studies at Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey (1999) and her PhD degree also in German Studies at Ludwig-Maximillians-University (LMU) in Munich, Germany (2007). Dr. Ozan has habilitated in ethnic studies (2012). Her research areas are hermeneutics, narrative research, mythology and comparative cultural sciences. Comparison of folk believes and mythical thinking in fairy tales, epics and folk songs belongs also to her research area. She has given seminars about Literature and Cultural Sciences at University of Munich (LMU), as well. Dr. Ozan is member of several international scientific societies like HKAK, GiG, IVG, KfV and GERDER. Besides Dr. Ozan taught mythology, hermeneutic, narratology at Munich University as a visiting professor between 2008-2012.<\/p>\n

Gra\u017cyna Zaj\u0105c graduated from the Faculty of Turkish Studies at Jagiellonian University in 1983. Since 2009 has been working at Jagiellonian University in Institute of Oriental Studies. In 1995 defended the doctoral dissertation titled \u201cLife and Works of Orhan Kemal\u201d. In 2009 wrote her habilitation thesis titled \u201cThe Literary Circles of the Era of Abd\u00fclhamid II in the Light of Turkish Autobiography\u201d. Her research interests lie in the area of 19th and 20th century Turkish literature, Polish-Turkish cultural and historical ties, travel books written by Poles visiting Turkey and literature of Northern Cyprus. She wrote three books, referring to Turkish literature, in Polish and around sixty articles in Turkish, English and Polish. Some of the articles were translated to Azeri Turkish. Moreover she translated short stories, poetry pieces and articles from Turkish and Azeri Turkish to Polish and from Polish to Turkish. Speaks three foreign languages: Turkish, English and Russian.<\/p>\n

Born in 1955 in Trabzon, Mustafa Ruhi \u015eirin spent his childhood in a village in the Black Sea mountain region. He has not ceased longing for his father who died when he was seven years old. He grew up dreaming of becoming a sea captain and one day sailing the high seas. He holds a degree in Radio and Television Broadcasting and retired from Turkish State Radio and Television (TRT) in 2011 after 35 years of service. \u015eirin has always kept his inner child alive. He has been interested in children\u2019s literature and children\u2019s rights starting with the birth of his son in 1977. He established Children\u2019s Foundation in 1990. He has organized conferences and conventions for children and adults alike. \u201cSeeing all children through one child\u201d represents his philosophy. He wrote his first poem when he was 13 years old that read; \u201cThe snowy mountains are sleeping\/rain, rain with no hands\/rain…\u201c He has been keeping a journal since then. Unfortunately, his diaries from the years 1968-1973, kept in a chest, were lost. He still hopes and waits for the day, his imaginary friend Naz might bring these lost diaries back. He is best known as a children\u2019s literature author and children\u2019s right advocate. In 2009 she was appointed as a research assistant at Sakarya University. In 2011 she received the master\u2019s degree and began the doctorate programme in Turkish Language Education in Ankara University Institute of Educational Sciences. Since 2013 she has been working as a research assistant in Ankara University according to Article 35 of the Higher Education Law and pursuing doctoral studies.<\/p>\n

He has published over 15 books on these topics some of which included studies on proverbs, folk poems and songs.
